Situated 20km west of Chania and 4km east of Kolimbari, the long beach of Rapaniana is a part of the extensive shoreline stretching from Peninsula Rodopos to Chania, including the beaches of Skoutelonas, Minothiana, and Rapaniana. The beach is a serene and clean spot, featuring a mixture of sandy and pebbly surfaces, as well as umbrellas, showers, and a lifeguard tower. It is a preferred spot, particularly when the wind is absent (which is often the case in the northern coast).
In the area, visitors can find all the necessary facilities, from mini-markets, restaurants, hotels and rooms, a health center, a pharmacy, a dentist, a post office, a bank, a telephone, and car rentals. Moreover, Rapaniana and its surrounding beaches are breeding points for the protected loggerhead seaturtle.
