Iligas is a stunningly beautiful beach located on the west side of Chora Sfakion, about 74 km south of Chania city. It is the end of the Kavi Gorge, which starts near Anopolis. There are three distinct beaches, each separated by its own unique sea caves. The main beach is the longest and is accessible by a short walk from the main road of Sfakia-Anopolis. The other two beaches to the east can only be reached by boat or by swimming from the main beach.
On the main Iligas beach, there is a small tavern with rooms available, but more amenities can be found in Chora Sfakion. It is one of the most accessible and picturesque beaches of south Crete. The caves offer a great place to keep cool and explore. Plus, it is quite close to Sfakia, so you can easily take a 10-15 minute walk to visit the sights of the area.
