Kalogeros is a stunning beach situated 57km south of Chania, 11km east of Sougia and 1km west of Agia Roumeli. Its deep blue waters and fine pebbles make it a preferred spot, especially among nudists looking for a secluded spot. The landscape is idyllic with some pine trees and a cave providing shade and a place to camp. To get there, you’ll have to either travel by boat or swim from Agia Roumeli, which takes around an hour. The beach is named after the Greek word ‘Kaloyeros’, which means monk, as there is a huge vertical rock in the sea that resembles a monk. The nearby beaches, known as Spilies sto Marmaro (or ‘Caves in Marble’), are surrounded by tall cliffs and make for a beautiful scenery.
