Located around 2.5km west of Chora Sfakion and 74km south of the coastal city of Chania, the three coves of Perivolakia (Small Perivolaki and Large Perivolaki) and Timios Stavros offer a secluded, pebbly beach experience with a few large rocks in some places. The beaches are often preferred by naturists, and are ideal for snorkeling. The coves can be accessed either by walking 1km along the path from Loutro to Glyka Nera or by boat. There are no facilities nearby, and no natural shade, so it is recommended to bring umbrellas. Nearby, just a few metres from the third cove, Timios Stavros, visitors can find the small chapel of Timios Stavros, which was once the site of a Venetian fortress, the ruins of which still exist in the vicinity.
