Tripiti beach is located at the southernmost point of Gavdos and Europe in Aliki, 7km south of Karave harbor. It has an east side made of sand and pebbles, and a corner near the cape of Tripiti composed of large stones and pebbles. The island’s corner is also known for its three arches, called Kamarelles, and a giant chair installed by some Russian inhabitants. The beach is shaped by the exit of a dried river and next to it, there is a salt pan that hosts many birds migrating from Europe to Africa in early spring. In order to reach the beach, one must take a 3.5km trail from Korfos, crossing pine wooded areas and derelict stone farmhouses. On the way back it is recommended to visit the settlement of Vatsiana, where one can taste the local cuisine.
