Situated on the eastern coast of Dia, the picturesque Panagia Bay is filled with flora and fauna that make it a paradise for nature lovers. The bay is surrounded by rocky hills, flourishing with aromatic oregano and Cretan herbs, and is home to wild rabbits that can be seen hopping about the shrubs. A tiny beach made of large pebbles forms at the entrance of the bay’s unique canyon. The bay is named after the nearby Cave of Panagia, and is best accessed by private boat or rented sailboat since the excursion ferries mainly visit Agios Georgios. Those who explore the bottom of the bay are likely to find broken pottery, possibly from an ancient shipwreck.
