Ammos Beach is situated 500 metres south of Agios Nikolaos lake, stretching from the city’s marina at Nearchou Street to the Municipal Beach. It offers a stunning view of the marina and is the go-to spot for tourists, with umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, water sports, restaurants and hotels all in close proximity to the beach. The calm and shallow waters make it a perfect playground for children, while the sea is usually quite flat.
The Municipal Beach, located just to the south, is much more secluded than the marina beach. Although it appears somewhat neglected, it still contains sand and pebbles in some areas and the water is still shallow. It was once a well-organised beach, offering all kinds of water sports. Adjacent to it is a huge park with lush grass and plenty of trees, where visitors can enjoy mini golf, playgrounds, swimming pools and refreshments and food at the bar.
