Agia Fotia Beach is situated 45km southeast of Agios Nikolaos and 12km east of Ierapetra. The area derives its name from the local Church of Agia Fotini, which is nestled near a stream that flows down from the mountain Thripti. This picturesque bay is encircled by conglomerate cliffs, and is shaded by plane trees. It is well-known among the citizens of Ierapetra and offers coarse grayish sand and pristine, tranquil waters. The beach is well-equipped with beach bars, taverns, and hotels nearby, and tamarisk trees offer natural shade. In recent years, beach volley tournaments have been held annually at the court nearby.
