Nestled 7km east of Sitia and 76km east of Agios Nikolaos, Agia Fotia is a beachfront village that takes its name from the local church of Agia Fotini. The area is renowned for its rocky and sandy coves, which have attracted many hotels in recent times, and is a popular destination for those seeking a quiet escape due to its lack of facilities. The beach is also known for its strong north winds and is home to the cave of Agia Fotia, where traces of ancient habitation have been found. Further south on the hill Koufoto stands a preminoan palace containing 37 rooms surrounding a central courtyard. East of this lies the largest Bronze Age cemetery in Greece, containing 302 tombs and artefacts that are now housed in the Archaeological Museums of Sitia and Agios Nikolaos. Analoukas beach is the easternmost beach before Cape Sidero.
