Situated in a tranquil spot between Fragokastelo and Rodakino village, Agia Marina is located 47km southwest of Rethymno and 84km south of Chania. Approximately 2km south of the village Argoules, the beach is comprised of sand and fine pebbles, with a few rocks ideal for spear fishing and snorkeling in certain areas. Unorganized and without any establishments, it is best to come prepared with all the necessary items. However, there are small canteens in the nearby Peristeres beach, just a 3-5 minute walk away. The carob trees provide the perfect shade even when the winds are blowing.
To reach Agia Marina, take the dirt road between Skaloti (or Lakki beach) and Polirizos beach, and then drive to Peristeres beach. From there, proceed down the seaside dirt track until you arrive at the beach. The dirt road also leads to Lakki beach. The beach is named after the Agia Marina chapel, located on the beach, and there is a small river which runs all year round from the White Mountains through the gorge Argoule.
