Located 32km south of Rethymno and 4km east of Plakias, Ammoudi is a beach complex renowned for its stunningly turquoise waters and spectacular white coarse sand. To get here, one must drive through the paved road from the village Lefkogia. The first beach of the area is Ammoudi, where visitors will find umbrellas, taverns, and rooms. There is also a scuba diving centre, making it an ideal choice for those looking to snorkel or dive. Along the dirt road that begins west of Ammoudi, visitors can park at a plateau overlooking Damnoni and enjoy the stunning view. Here, they will find the small beach of Klisidi, with its characteristic rock in the sea, as well as the nudist beach of Small Ammoudi or Ammoudaki. This beach has a small canteen and umbrellas, and at its western side visitors can swim to a marine cave, where the sun rays make the water a vivid blue. Additionally, there is an under water hole that connects Ammoudaki with Klisidi, allowing visitors to get from one beach to another with a dive.
