Village of Kerames, located 49 km south of Rethymno. In the vicinity of the village, there are many stunning beaches, such as Akoumiani Gialia, Ligres, Triopetra and Agios Pavlos sandhills. The beachfront north of Akoumiani Gialia is called Keramiani Gialia – named after the nearby village. To get to this beach, one must travel down a poor asphalt road, which eventually stops near the local harbor of Agia Fotini, also known as Agia Fotia.
Once at Agia Fotini, a dirt track (in good condition) leads to the main beaches of Keramiani Gialia. The first beach, Podare, is made up of coarse sand and rocks, making it ideal for fishing and snorkeling. This beach is not organized, although there are some rooms to rent nearby. Further down the track, you will come to a parking area, near some rooms for renting, where the road stops. Here, you will find the beach of Glima, a sandy secluded beach that is totally unorganised. If you walk 100m to the east from here, you will come across a towering sandhill on your left, in front of which lies Pahia Ammos, a beach with coarse sand that is perfect for absolute seclusion.
