Petres Beach is situated at the east end of a long stretch of shoreline in Episkopi, located 46 kilometers east of Chania and 13 kilometers west of Rethymnon. Its name is derived from the imposing Petres Gorge that terminates here. Amenities such as rooms, eateries, and a diving school can be found in abundance. The cove of Vythos, north of the other coves, is equipped with sun umbrellas and its sand is less abundant than the other coves. The rocky seabed makes this a great spot for fishing and snorkeling, though north winds often whip up the sea, creating choppy waves.
