Tou Meri to Pigadi is a destination of natural beauty, located 8km northwest of Kissamos and 44km west of Chania in the former municipality of Platanos. This spectacular spot is home to three consecutive small, protected bays with fine pebbles and crystal clear waters, surrounded by few small trees offering shade. Meri Pigadi, which translates to ‘Meri’s Well’, is believed to have been named after someone who owned a well in the area. To get to the beach, visitors must travel 1.5km into the dirt road that starts from Kaliviani and leads to the lagoon of Balos. Kakia Skala, located 1.5km from Meri Pigadi, is another stunning beach with deep blue waters and fine pebbles, however, access is difficult due to the rocky cliffs. It is important to note that there are no facilities at either of these beaches, so visitors should be sure to bring plenty of water.
