Lakki beach

Located just 81km southeast of Chania and 48km southwest of Rethymno city, Lakki, also known as Laki or Lakkes, is the ideal destination for a family-friendly, tranquil vacation. The area is slightly organized and offers a few units with rooms and some taverns, so you won’t have to worry about finding accommodation. The beach is accessible by driving from Skaloti, and there are several beautiful sandy coves, separated by small rocky piers. The sea is crystal clear and has few visitors, and you can find umbrellas in some coves. Tamarisk trees provide plenty of shade, and if you have a car, you can easily visit the bustling area of Fragokastelo, located within walking distance. As an added bonus, a short walk to the village of Skaloti will take you to the 1335 Byzantine church of Prophet Elijah.
