Located 45km south of the city of Rethymno, Klimata is a small bay situated near the popular beach of Korakas and the village of Rodakino. A short rocky cape separates the two destinations. The bay is home to three consecutive beaches, the first of which can be reached via a cement-paved road starting from Korakas. Alternatively, visitors can access the remaining two beaches by walking through the first beach or following a dirt road connecting Korakas to Souda beach at Plakias.
Klimata is not highly developed, with only Korakas beach being organized. All three beaches are characterized by their fine pebbles and crystal clear waters, while some parts of the rocky seabed make for great snorkeling spots. It is therefore a popular destination for those looking for privacy and seclusion, as well as naturism. The name ‘Klimata’ is derived from the many vines that used to grow on the surrounding slopes.
