Giorgakis beach is situated in Ierapetra, a province in the eastern region of Crete, which is around 10km east of Ierapetra and 45km southeast of Agios Nikolaos. This stunning beach is located in the Ferma area below steep cliffs, yet it is easily accessible via stairs that start from the Ferma Solaris Hotel. When you reach the beach, you will be welcomed with fine pebbles and rocks that form caves. In the middle of the beach there is a low rock that divides the main beach from a second, tiny beach on the west. This second beach is the result of the stream from the Strongyli peak, which flows down to the beach, creating a breathtaking 10-meter-high waterfall with colorful rocks. The surrounding area of Ferma is home to plenty of pine trees and thick vegetation, making it a lush oasis in the arid regions of Eastern Crete. Furthermore, there are many freshwater springs nearby, even during the summer, which helps to support this lush vegetation.
