Kakia Skala beach

Just 46km southeast of Agios Nikolaos and 9km east of Ierapetra lies Kakia Skala, a stunning beach that is mostly untouched. This destination is located near the main road connecting Ierapetra with Makrigialos, and is bordered by the awe-inspiring Gorge of Agios Ioannis and the waterfalls of Milonas. The beach’s shore is comprised of fine pebbles and the waters are calm and clear. You won’t need umbrellas here since there is plenty of shade to be found under the tamarisk trees. Locally, the area is known as Kakkos, thanks to the nearby Kakkos Bay hotel, located just 200 meters to the west.
