Nestled just 15km east of Chania city, on the southern coast of Souda Bay, lies the picturesque village of Kalami. Here, visitors can take in stunning views of the bay and the fort of Souda, as well as the nearby ancient city of Aptera and the Turkish forts of Intzedin and Aptera. Only 500m from the village, travelers can find the secluded beach of deep water and round pebbles, with a small harbor at its eastern end. With its few umbrellas and tamarisk trees, this beach is a favorite of locals yet remains unorganized. For accommodation and food, there are several options in the wider region and the village itself.
