Situated just two kilometers south of Karave, Gavdos’ only port, lies Korfos (also known as Bosom). A peaceful and family-friendly spot, Korfos is accessible by a footpath along the coast from Karave, though most visitors prefer to take the bus from Karave. Offering beautiful pebbles and sand, the beach and its surrounding area have a few rooms and taverns, as well as the nearby chapel of St. George and its spring. Archaeological evidence suggests that Korfos was inhabited since the Late Minoan period (1600-1100BC). As such, this tranquil destination is the perfect place for a peaceful family holiday, with all the basic amenities close by.
