Beginning at the church of Agia Fotini in Ierapetra, the East Beach of Agios Andreas stretches for 4km to the east. The beach is a municipal beach and is well-maintained and organized near the beginning, and it is a sandy beach. However, as one proceeds further eastwards, the beach gradually transitions to small grayish pebbles and rocks until the area of Livadia is reached. At the easternmost part of the beach, one can reach the area of Peristeras, which is a secluded area with high cliffs surrounding it. This area contains both sandy and rocky sections, with the rocky part being accessible by walking from the road and the sandy part being accessible via the road. This area is very well hidden, though there are plenty of rocks to navigate.
